Easter "Trifecta"

This Easter was definitely the most memorable, moving and awe-inspiring Easters I've ever had. At the Saturday night Easter Vigil, I was baptized, confirmed and received my first communion (what I like to call the Holy "Trifecta!!" ) :)

The entire week was insanely intense...i can't even describe it, really. I never, ever, EVER thought I'd be one of those people crying at church (i always thought those people must have done something REEEAALLY bad to be crying at church!!) but on Thursday, I found myself weeping like a baby, along with my fellow classmates.

Saturday was a lot like my wedding day--it was just a big blur of happiness that went by so fast. Everyone asked me if I was glad that I didn't have to go to class EVERY Tuesday night anymore...frankly, that makes me SO sad! Luckily, Scott is doing the classes starting next week, so I can continue to live vicariously through his experience. This has to be one of the best things I have ever done!

The picture above is the Fr. Michael who baptized me. He also baptized Brooke & Will in January. I got absolutely DRENCHED from head to toe and had less than 10 min. to look normal...that was a challenge :)

My awesome class!

Palm Sunday

We went to church on Saturday night this week since Scott is traveling on Sunday. This Sunday marks our one year anniversary at St. Dominics Church!! Both Scott and I were very impressed by the Palm Sunday Mass last year but this year, which is why we decided to start going to church at St. Doms. I have to admit though, I am a whole new person this year when it comes to my spiritual life! Not to mention that it helped actually understanding what everything meant this year. Last year, I had no clue why palm trees and church went together :)

This Mass was also the last one where I couldn't take communion. Next year will be Scott's turn and the year after that will be Brookey's first communion! I can't believe after this year-long process, Holy Week is finally here! It has never, ever meant so much to me. It's been an amazing journey that I hope will never end. But right now, it couldn't get any better than this.

Charlie

The Rooney Family welcomed their first (and ONLY!!) pet this weekend--a blue/green betta fish named Charlie.

It was all Brookey's idea...from his name to what type of rocks to put in the bottom of the bowl. She even saved up her own money to buy Charlie and his tank by doing her weekly chores. She even went so far and arranged for her teacher to "fish-sit" Charlie when we go on vacation! She's quite proud of him and so far she's a very good, nurturing Mommy.

This is about as far as I will go with pets in this house as I don't really see the point of cleaning up after something else when I already have two kids. And I definitely don't need something else peeing or pooping on the floor considering I'm about to potty train Buddy. I'm 100% happy with a neat, clean fish in the confines of a tank :)
