Big Sis, 'Lil Bro

This pic is so cute to's funny to think that (hopefully?!) someday Buddy will be bigger and taller than Brooke. But right now, she is clearly the BIG sis! If I could whip out my camera fast enough, I could capture SOOOOOO many funny, silly, heartwarming moments between Brooke and Will. The way they interact is just priceless. She loves him to bits (except when he's being "annoying") and he is interested in everything, EVERYTHING his big sis is doing. Interactions between the two make Scott and I smile every day!!

First Haircut Trauma!

Will's hair was getting out of control. He has the WORST receding hairline at age 1...NO hair on the sides, yet long and mangy in the back. Kinda like a mullet gone wrong. So Scott and I decided he needed a "shave"--something I have been wanting to do for MONTHS. We bought some shears and put them on the "long" setting so he didn't look like an Army recruit. I think it turned out as good as it could have, given what God has given him for a hairline thus far! Brookey sported the "bald on the sides" look for about 18 months, so I am hoping it eventually evens out.

Needless to say, Buddy was less than pleased with the shaving experience...

The Trauma!

After all the trauma, at least he's clean cut!

One Year Stats

Well, now that he's one, our little "Even Steven" is playing some catch up! Our fat boy weighs in at 23 1/2 lbs and 31 inches long. So he's not in the 50th percentile anymore! He's moved up to the 75th-90th for length and 75th for weight! Woo hoo--he's coming from behind!!! :-) Not bad for a kid who was born at a weight that was in the 5th percentile!!

He's trying to walk much more now but he still has a long way to go. Right now he's content with cruising and crawling with amazing lightening speed! He's finally taking a liking to some "real" food. His favorites being raisin bread, string cheese, goldfish and chicken.

He's growing up but he is still really my BABY. It just seems like Brooke was much more "mature" at this age...or maybe I just treated her so, wanting her to grow up and hurry up and "do" stuff. With Buddy, I think I still treat him more like a baby and am trying to savor every moment of his babyhood!!!!

Will's First Birthday Bash!

Saturday, March 6, 2010 was definitely a FUN day!!! I have to admit I was pretty nervous having 35 people over in our small-ish house but everything turned out just fine!

We dined on homemade blueberry buttermilk scones (thank you, Grace!), two egg casseroles (thank you, Traci!), Swiss and Bacon Dip (thank you Rachel Ray!) and homemade potatoes (thank you Scott and Pops!!).

Brookey and her girl posse played together great. I thought Will might get freaked out with all the people around but of of course he was calm, cool and collected. That's my boy!!!! I thought I'd never say this, but I would have 35 people over at my house again...just not for awhile! I'm partied out. Happy Birthday, Little Buddy!!!!
