Love is in the air, girls!!!! I will admit my husband and I have never been big Valentine's Day people. We always celebrate the holiday, but I honestly don't think in our 15 years of knowing each other have we ever actually gone OUT for Valentine's Day! Given that I am all about practical, going out to jam packed restaurants with super high prices just for THAT day doesn't really gel with my game, if you know what I mean :)
But this doesn't mean, I don't have a cute "going out" Valentine's Day outfit in mind! IF I abandoned my practical side and decided to go out, I would probably wear something close to this:
Tunic Blouse:
Black Jeans:
Scarf:
Earrings:
For the past 3 years we have had a little family tradition of my sister in law's visiting from Chicago over Valentine's Day. We'll do filets on the grill with some yummy sides and I will make chocolate lava cakes! To die for!! And listen, I DON'T BAKE and somehow I pull these off every year! It's like a Valentine's Day miracle or something.
Here is the recipe I use: Chocolate Lava Cakes
I also organized a Love Box last year. It was so much fun!! Here's what you do:
LOVE BOX
1. Get a small, cute box (or small bag) for each person in attendance.
2. Ask each people to write ONE thing they love about EACH person at the dinner/party and place it into their Love Box (or bag).
3. After dinner (we like to do ours during dessert), people take turns reading the messages from their box and GUESSING who wrote it!
It's especially fun when little kids are involved because they always say funny things like, "I love you because you are poopy." #deadgiveaway
Seriously, it's so much fun!! Try it!!
What are you plans for Valentine's Day?? Are you cool and whoop it up out on the town or are you lame like me and stay in??!! :)

Thank you so much for choosing me as this weeks favorite! You definitely made my Monday! I'm the same when it comes to Vday. Since it is on Sunday this year we actually have talked about an afternoon date to do something fun. Have a super week!
ReplyDeleteThat scarf surely added a lot of dimension and flair to this look - Have a lovely week!!

I love this Valentine's Day look and how it's pretty but still feels relaxed. We're not big for going out on Valentine's Day either--if we do want a "real" date night we'll choose a day close to V-Day but not the actual day (crowds = not fun). I love the Love Box idea, how sweet!

What a great, yet simple look! We do not usually go out for Valentines either, so I am with you there. That Lava cake looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! Love your scarf!
ReplyDeleteI think your Valentine's Day in with your family sounds delightful! And you could totally wear this outfit just with jeans and flats :)
ReplyDeleteWe aren't all about going out on VD either. The Love Box is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteHey, babes! A couple of questions: are those black pants or jeans? And where did you buy them? Love the rich, romantic colors in your infinity scarf. Perfection. The Love Box is such a fun idea. My family could do a virtual love box, maybe, in a post on FB.
