Fresno Fun!!

We hadn't been to Fresno in over SIX months, so we decided it was time to pay a visit :-) We had a jam-packed weekend, but a great time!! We kicked off the weekend with a BBQ at my moms with family, including 3 year old Ayden, my cousin's son. Brooke and Ayden had a great time running around together, burning off all that 3-4 year old energy. On Sunday, my mom and I treated ourselves to massages and then we went to my best friend's house for her daughter's 4th birthday (POOL!!) party. Then we headed over to my dad's where Brookey was introduced to one of my all time favorite "toys"--the Slip 'n Slide!!

We had a great time. Although Buddy spent most of the weekend in "stranger-danger" mode, making mean, panic-stricken-looking faces to anyone unfamiliar. I am not a fan of this stage! Hopefully it passes soon. Poor Little Buddy...he burst into flames in the 80 degree Fresno heat and was surrounded by strangers all weekend. Needless to say, he's happy to be home!

Room Mom

Despite the stiff competition, I was able to edge out the other very talented, qualified moms for one of the the coveted "Room Mom" positions in Brookey's Kindergarten class next year! :-)

It is STILL up in the air whether or not I will be working half time or not at all next year. But either way, I will need something productive to do with my time off. This will also give me an opportunity to keep tabs on Brookey at school! Not that I am a control-freak or anything :)

I have always wanted to be involved in my kids' school, so I hope this opportunity allows me to do that without being tooooo involved. Plus, I figure I have about 3 years of this "Room Mom" thing with Brookey and after that, I doubt it will be "cool" for her mom to be anywhere near her school. I want to enjoy this while it lasts :-)

Bruised Graduate!

Two days before her much-awaited preschool graduation pictures, danger-prone Brookey decided to run herself--eye first--into the corner of our bed. Ouch. The next day, she basically had a black eye. On picture day, it was MUCH better but still very visible.

When we got this picture back, Scott was like, "They really should have touched up her eye!! It looks awful!" I told him, =hello= it's the School Picture Guy, not Glam Shots!!! Anyhow, I think the pic is endearing, black eye and all!! It will definitely give us something to remember and laugh about in years to come!

Brookey officially "walks the plank" to get her preschool diploma on June 10. She majored in Letter Sounds and minored in Blond Haired Boys. It was an AWESOME year! Off to the Big School August!!!

Hey, Hey! Good-BYE!

No, we're not going anywhere. That's Buddy's new favorite song! Apparently, the little white boy thinks he's got some dance moves. This song came on on iTunes and he busted out..."dancing!" We were all laughing so hard. It is moments like these where I would say in a heartbeat that I want more kids.

However, not more than 10 minutes later, he spilled the entire contents of his stomach all over the kitchen floor...and all over me. Funny how things work like that...I'm calling that "a sign."

Friends

We are so lucky Brookey has made such great friends at her school. Most of them will be in her Kindergarten class next year. If she stays with her school, she could be with these same kids all the way until 8th grade.. and beyond! That would be so wild!

Since many of my nearest and dearest friends are from elementary school, I would love for Brookey to have that same experience and make those same lifelong memories...from drinking juice boxes together to drinking wine together!! :-)
