I feel like I have gotten to the point where I have lots of wearable pieces in my closet and I am having fun mixing and matching. I every now and then I will add in a trendy item if:
1) It's not very expensive ~ I don't care to spend lots of money on pieces I think will only be around a season or two.
2) I can wear it with at least 3 other items/outfits in my closet. If it's not versatile, I don't bring it home!
This black faux fur vest fit the bill!!!
Burgandy Cords: Loft (similar, in Tibetian Red)
White Tee: Kohls (similar)
Black Boots: Sears (exact)
I found several ways to wear this vest using items I already had. I'll show more fur vest outfits in later posts! But this black color I am finding it super versatile! For size reference, this is Jr. Size Small.
Listen, finding a faux fur vest is HARD! They seem to be everywhere but only .01% are going to actually look decent on you #justsayin. I found either the DAF (Dead Animal Factor) was SUPER high and I looked like I had roadkill on me OR they were too wide the the shoulders and I looked like a football player--NOT a flattering look! Have you guys noticed that??
Here are a few I think would fit the bill, but it's really hard to know unless you try them on:
Next, I will be styling a casual look with jeans and boots AND a dressy "holiday party" look! Stay tuned for that! In the meantime, I'll leave you with a few of my fave faux fur vest looks from Pinterest ~

I agree, it's hard to find the perfect fur vest! I still haven't found one that I like. I love yours styled with the red pants and white top! It's such a cute look! Thank you so much for featuring me! Have a great Monday!

Doused In Pink
Totally agree...I had a hard time finding one because, frankly, not sure I'm going to love it!
ReplyDeleteBut, I found one at Macy's that is fur front w/ ribbed sweater like back, so seems a little less "road kill". On sale, so worth the try!
Can't wait to see how everyone styles theirs!
Happy Thanksgiving Casey!
I think the vest you found is great--it's really flattering in the cut and length, and it the "DAF" (love that!) is very low :) I've never been much of a faux-fur wearer, but that vest is really cute!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, now you make me want one...I am doing a gift exchange and a certain someone that blogs with you wants one...going to try and find the perfect one for her! :) Shhhh, don't tell her!
ReplyDeleteI have tried a few fur vest and thought I looked like a sausage roll. Not fond of that look! I do like this one and I would like to have one but it seems to be taking more effort to find one than I'm willing to exert. lol
ReplyDeleteLove your look! I have a couple faux fur vest that I've had several seasons, I love how they add so much fun to an outfit.
