Today we're talking Summer Dresses so I thought I'd do a little roundup of some of my summer faves. Now I KNOW everyone is talking about, styling and wishing for fall, but frankly here in Northern California, we have a good month of summery weather left and I am going to embrace it! Also, now is a GREAT time to get some amazing deals on dresses!
I am typically not so much of a dress gal, but I have been wearing dresses a lot this summer! I think I have finally found some very versatile dresses that I feel are very wearable and didn't make me feel too "dressed up" (unless I wanted them to)!
Dress 1: Chambray Shirt Dress~ This was probably my favorite dress this summer! I wore it non-stop. It was just so darn easy to throw on with flip flops, Converse or dressed up a little with wedges. You know I love easy! It's on clearance now! For size reference I am wearing an XS.
Dress: Target (exact, cute fall option, cute fall option)
Wedges: Toms (similar)
Earring: Stella and Dot (exact)
Dress 2: The Blue Dress ~ Love this dress so much! As you can see, it can be easily dressed up or down and I just adore the cobalt color. The best part, though is I got it from the sweet gals at Pumps and Push Ups! Check out their online boutique--they have the cutest stuff and literally the best customer service on the planet :) Their Summer Sale is going on right now and everything is 40% off so go check them out NOW!! :) See my original post HERE.
Dress: Pumps & Push Ups (exact, love this one, love this one) AND 40% OFF! Use the code: summersale
Dress 3: The Little Black Dress ~ After YEARS of wearing the same LBD, I finally updated it to this simple, classic black shift dress. This dress, like the blue dress can be dressy or casual. See original post HERE.
Dress: Leith/Norstrom: (exact, love this color, love this for fall)
Military Vest: TJ Maxx (similar, similar, similar)
Dress: Leith/Norstrom: (exact, love this color, love this for fall)
Necklace: Stella & Dot, old (similar)
Pink Clutch: Charming Charlie (option)
Dress 4: The Striped Dress ~ If you didn't grab a striped T-Shirt dress this summer, try to grab one while they are on super clearance right now! You won't regret it. This dress is so casual and comfy! I would throw it on over the weekend with a baseball hat and sneakers and all was right with the world :) See original post HERE.
Dress: Old Navy-sold out ( option, option)
Chambray: H&M (similar)
Dress 5: The Teal Maxi ~ Yet ANOTHER dress that I wore fancy AND casually! I actually wore this cotton dress with heels and my Kendra Scott pendant to a "fancy" event, then "inside tied" with flip flops to the pool! See the original post HERE and my little tutorial on the Inside Tie.
Dress: Lush/Nordstrom:( exact, love this color!)
Pendant: Exact
Versatility is the key to making your closet work for you. When thinking about buying new items of clothing, especially if they are "investment" items and on the pricey side, I always like to think about how many ways I can wear the item and if it can span multiple seasons. My general rule of thumb is I need to be able to wear an item at least 3 ways before I will buy it. So far, this has worked well and I have found myself tossing/selling a lot less clothing because I don't like it or I don't feel it works with other pieces in my closet.
What is the most versatile item of clothing you have in your closet right now?

LOVE LOVE the bold pattern mixing with gingham and florals...and a splash and pearls because nothing goes better with gingham than pearls! See her original post HERE.
