I can just throw on this skirt with a casual tee and sandals and I am just as comfortable in it as I would be in shorts or jeans. Plus, it has pockets so that's always a HUGE plus!! If you're looking for a casual skirt, here are some great options:

DeleteI totally hear you on skirts feeling too dressy for mom life! I didn't own any for YEARS when my kids were really little. Now I have one I like and wouldn't mind a couple of more casual options. I might sneak into LOFT one of these days to try on that striped option you shared!
